My grandfather (dad's father), Lester Gorsuch, was born on September 16, 1919 and passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. His battle with dementia ended and he is now in a much better place, without any suffering. Grandpa Gorsuch was a hard working man and did so much to take care of his family. Unfortunately Grandpa and I did not have an extremely close relationship. I do wish I could have spent more time with him in Kansas. I know my daddy is sad at the loss of his father, but I also know that he is relieved that Grandpa is no longer battling with dementia.
Grandpa was cremated and services will be held on Saturday, May 28th. My family and I will be traveling that Friday to Kansas and will most likely stay the full weekend and come home Memorial Day.
It will be nice to see my dad's side of the family again. I have not seen some of them since my wedding, and others in years!
Please say a prayer for my dad's family. I know Grandpa lived a long, full life, but it is still not easy to lose a parent, at any age. I can't even imagine. :(
