Yes, We Still Exist

I know it has been forever since my last blog update. So many things have happenend since my last post.

At the end of January we had Ryan's birthday dinner at Shogun. Both of our families enjoyed the fun atmosphere and taste of hibachi. It was actually my parents' and my first time to eat at Shogun. I have had hibachi before, but never there. It was very tasty, even though it was WAY too much food!

The next day Ryan left for his specialty training in Texas. For the next 6 weeks we spent the weekdays apart, and saw each other on the weekends when he would come back. It was tough at first, but then I got used to it and it was nice getting to see him at least on the weekends. I even cooked for him some! One night I had a Mexican theme and we had tacos, rice, bean, chips and queso and margaritas! Another night I made him homemade pizza! Well, the crust was not made from scratch but I figured that would be a bit too difficult for a novice cook like me. For Valentine's weekend I even baked him a cherry chip cake (though the decorating looks like that of a 6 year old, haha).

And of course... I cannot forget about one of the most important recent additions to our family.....

MEET Abigail (Abbie) Kamermayer!

Abbie is from the "Because of You Chihuahua Rescue." I was at PetSmart at the beginning of February and I saw this sweet little thing. She was shaking and so shy. I held her and knew she was going home with me. This was my first time to adopt a rescue dog before and I am so glad I did! She deserves a good home. :)
At first she was a bit timid at the house. I have a feeling she was abused/neglected previously since she cowared down everytime I went to pet her. Just a few days later, though, she warmed up and hasn't left my side since!
Her and Zoe get along. They don't really play or anything...... I wish they would. Zoe is kind of snobby though and Abby is pretty much ADD. (LOL) But, they both keep me company and they are quite entertaining with their quirky personalities.
Ryan completed his specialized training in Texas last Friday. He came home for the weekend and then left once again for more training. It is going to be quite odd not having him around the house for such a long period of time. I know that I have to keep myself busy. The other day I actually bought four or five books to start reading just to give me something to do at night when I am lonely.
I guess I should wrap this up. I will try to post more often from now on. :) Hope everyone has a fun St. Patrick's Day!
